What can I do if I'm not getting enough hot water?

Try these tips first:

  • If it is a shower that is not giving you enough hot water, check the sink next to the shower to determine if it is your shower head or the boiler that isn't providing enough hot water.
  • Determine if you are not getting enough hot water or if the water isn't hot enough.
  • If you have a mixing valve on your boiler, try adjusting that to a hotter setting.

Whether the temperature of your water is not hot enough or you are running out of hot water too fast, Roman Oil has the solution for you. It could be as simple as adjusting the flow and settings of your existing boiler or your system may need upgrading.

Every house and situation is different and with many options, Roman Oil can offer you the best solution for your problem. If your heating system allows it, the hot water coil can be replaced. Some other options are an Oil Fired Water Heater, an Indirect Water Heater, or an Aquabooster. Roman Oil would be happy to come to your house and give you our expert opinion on your system. Just email us or give us a call.

  • First check to see if the thermostat is set above room temperature.
  • Check to see if the oil burner switch both on the furnace and at the top of the stairs is in the ON position.
  • Make sure that there is oil in the tank.
  • Press the reset button on your burner relay only once and check to see if a flame comes on.
  • If the burner still does not run, check for a loose or blown fuse.

What should I do if I have a water leak?

  • Try to determine where the leak is coming from and if it is coming from the boiler at all.
  • If it is a small leak, put a bucket or pan under it to catch the drips.
  • If possible, try to be able to describe to the technician where the water leak is coming from.
